Over the course of the project, SES Network Plus will be announcing a programme of opportunities for funding and support that network members may wish to apply for. Full details will be announced in due course. It is envisaged that these will fall under the following categories:
Working together to enhance skills and career development
Free places (and travel bursaries) to attend the SES Network Plus industry led Skills Development Workshops. Sessions will be interdisciplinary, practical, and relevant to both attendees and the UK solar industry.
Free places (and associated travel bursaries) for the SES Network Plus industry driven Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Programme. Regular interaction and cohort activities to share experiences, advice and stories, building supportive network connections and drive career development.
Enabling funding to build collaboration, underpin participation and unlock potential
The SES Network Plus Innovation Support Programme will competitively award seed grants of up to £4000 to individuals, small teams or their small start-up business who have participated in the Skills Development Workshops linked directly to the Skills Development Workshops to ensure industry relevance.
The industry-aligned SES Network Plus International Travel Fund will enable Early Career Researchers from UK universities to travel to key conferences, industry events and training opportunities not directly sponsored by the SES Network Plus.
The SES Network Plus Industrial Secondment Fund will allow applicants to develop solar specific skills through internships at leading companies active in the solar value stream. Both top down, industry solicitated, and bottom up, secondee grown, secondments will be welcomed, and the fund will support travel and accommodation costs for Early Career Researchers from UK universities.
The SES Network Plus recognises that childcare responsibilities can present a significant barrier to participation for some. The SES Network Plus Childcare Fund will be established to provide offset for additional childcare costs incurred in attending SES Network Plus events.
